The majestic view of Sunflower Maze
"Tayug" was named in the town, where the word "Tayug" comes from the tall tree that is once grew in the heart of the town. This tall tree was called by the Ilocano's as "Layug", however Ilocano's have the difficulty in pronouncing "L" so they changed it to "T". Therefore, the name "Tayug" came about.
The famous "Sunflower Maze" was located at Barangay C. Lichauco, Tayug, Pangasinan, that became popular because of its majestic view of sunflowers.
